Thanks to current 8th-grade parents Rhonda Walker and Sloane Harris, the NYC High School Admission Support Group blog is reactivated!

It is set it up to be as interactive and "real time" as possible. Your comments will be posted daily (well almost daily :-) from now until the applications are due in early December and, thereafter, on a weekly basis.

Welcome to the High School Admission Support Group Blog

Created and maintained by parents of The Computer School, this blog provides information for families of Upper West Side middle school students applying to NYC public high schools. Launched by Sara Mears in 2009 for the class entering high school in September 2010, the blog was not updated during 2010.

The blog has been reactivated in 2011 by current 8th-grade parents to provide a forum of communication for families entering high school in 2012.

Here's how it works:
• The first post will list topics identified by families as those that require more information or conversation.
• Thereafter, each topic will have its own post and comments area.
• Families can contribute via the comments interface (click on the blue "Comments" link).
• Comments will be screened for spam by an administrator and posted daily.

If you would like to add a topic, have information to share about subjects other than those listed, or find names or links that need to be updated, contact Sara Mears at saramears@mac.com. Please include your e-mail, the name of your student, and your current school if not The Computer School. All information will be kept completely confidential.
