I know of one student who was accepted in our year (class of 2010) and he listed NEST+m way down on his list. He opted for CCNY given NEST+m is a lengthy commute.

Welcome to the NYC High School Admission Support Group Blog
Created and maintained by parents ofThe Computer School, this blog provides information for families of Upper West Side middle school students applying to New York City public high schools.
Launched in 2009 for the class entering high school in September 2010, the blog was not updated for the class of 2011. Reactivated in the spring of 2011 by the CS PA, the blog once again provides a forum of communication for middle school families.
Here's how it works: • The section above lists topics identified by families as those that require more information or conversation. • Each topic has its own post and comments area in the left column. • Families can contribute via the comments interface. Click on the orange post title or the blue "Comments" link to read or add comments. If you add a comment, click "Publish" to submit. • Submitted comments will be screened for spam by the administrator and will, therefore, appear ASAP but not immediately.
If you would like to add a topic, have information to share about subjects other than those listed, or find names or links that need to be updated, contact Sara Mears at saramears@mac.com.Please include your e-mail, the name of your student, and your current school if not The Computer School. All information will be kept completely confidential.
Sara Mears is parent of Ben Levinsohn, CS class of 2010 and junior at Beacon High School and Adam Levinsohn, CS class of 2015 and current 6th grader.

ReplyDeleteOur son will be applying to NEST+m, although not as a first choice because of the hefty commute from the UWS.
